Doo Wop Ledgends

Highly, tremendously impressed with the Doo-Wop Ledgends.
I played it for some veterans where I volunteer, they and staff loved it.

I was very impressed with the DVD Performances and the excellent
condition and quality of the DVD.

The Dvd was so well put together It put out magnificent sound,
perfornance over and over again.

I really enjoyed the show. The Marcels were my favorite act - I reversed
several times 2 hear Blue Moon again and again.

My only disappointment - the show was too short. I expected the show
to last at least two (2) hours.

Fun Night Monday Novermer13th at 6:00PM - Concert Frank Sinatra

This review is from:
Frank Sinatra: Concert for the Americas (DVD)
Frank was a little past his prime when this live concert was performed,
but he was in terrific form in this early 80s show. His bluesy rendition
of "Come Rain or Shine" takes Don Costa's great chart and makes it
grittier, sans the massive string section.

"Best Is Yet to Come" is as solid a rendition of the Cy Coleman song
as I've ever seen or heard. "I Won't Dance" swings, and Franks's
drummer Irv Cottler places the perfect, powerful accents to kick Sinatra
higher.

Speaking of Cottler, you won't see Buddy Rich behind Sinatra, but that's
fine. Cottler knew every nook and cranny of Sinatra's rhythmic phrasing
and knew how to fire up his boss. It's Buddy's band, augmented by french
horns and virtuoso Tony Mottola, along with a couple of other Sinatra
regulars.

There is a break in which Buddy comes out and does his classic
"West Side Story", with a typically explosive drum solo. I have a friend
who attended this concert in the Dominican Republic who told me Buddy
collapsed after his performance from the stifling heat & humidity.

You'll note he didn't even wear a hairpiece...somehow, Sinatra looked
comfortable.

No, it's not HD, the audio is okay but not up to the best technologies of
today...but this is one of the best Sinatra live concerts you'll find.
It's Wonderful.

Frankie Valli Live from Atlantic City at 7:00pm

Dancing and Outdoor TV (Weather permitting).

Editorial Review:

One of the most outstandingly successful groups in pop history,
Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons were always known for their
extraordinary live performances. This live concert was filmed in
Atlantic City during their 1992 US tour.
Including many of their most popular and widely acclaimed hits,
the program is a fitting tribute to a remarkable group. Inducted into
both the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame and the Vocal Group Hall of
Fame, Frankie Valli has scored 39 Top 40 hits in the course of his
illustrious career.
In 2005, the Broadway musical Jersey Boys opened on the
'Great White Way'. Besides performances of many of Frankie Valli
and The Four Seasons hit recordings, the musical features a
biographical narrative, told as four separate points of view by each
of the members of The Four Seasons (Tommy DeVito, Frankie Valli,
Nick Massi, and Bob Gaudio).
The musical dramatizes several real-life incidents from Valli's life,
including his estrangement from his daughter Francine, who died in
1980.
The widely acclaimed show has won six Tony awards, with touring
companies around the world, as well as a version at Paris Las Vegas.
Based on the roadway smash hit and directed by Clint Eastwood,
the movie Jersey Boys was released in 2014 to rave reviews, starring
Christopher Walken and John Lloyd Young as Valli.
